Peadiatric neurologist and Assistant Professor at Gazi University, Esra Serdaroglu, tells us about the exciting treatment for some epilepsies called VNS (or vagal nerve stimulation). Esra speaks of the simple surgery, potential side effects, and incredibly positive impacts that so many children experience when it comes to seizure control and even mood. Esra also tells us about her research into the impact of VNS on children when it comes to sleep, appetite, and overall quality of life.

Esra Serdaroglu is a peadiatric neurologist from Gaza University in Ankara, Turkey, with a passion for improving the lives of children affected by neurological diseases, including epilepsy.
Esra is the Chair of the Future Leaders of ICNA Committee, a Committee member of the Young European Paediatric Neurology Society, and a former EPNS fellow at Evelina London Children's Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Jean-Pierre Lin.
